I'm going to Prague!!!

Yep I'm off to prague! It's kinda random, and now the intial excitement had worn off a bit, I'm ever so slightly thinking...ahhhh...what the hell am I doing!!!

Basically my friend from England, Emily sent me a message on facebook saying that she had brought an Interail pass and was going to be coming to Lille on Sat if I wanted to meet up. So I said that I wasn't doing anything and would love to meet up, did she have anywhere in mind that she wanted to go? (thinking that she might say either stay in Lille or go to Brussels or Bruges or somewhere!) She replied back saying that she was thinking of getting the overnight train to Prague and spending Sunday there, and I could come with her if I wanted to!! I didn't even know it was possible to get an overnight train to Prague!! And the important thing for me is that I have to be able to get back in time to work on Monday afternoon.

So I then spent the next few hours (bear in mind that I got her last message at just before midnight!!) trying to find out how to get ot Prague and if it was at all possible to do it and get back here by 13:30 on monday. And amazingly it is!! Unfortuantley it was also very expensive (over £180) so I wasn't to sure if I wanted to spend that much for 1 day. Then I had a look on the Interail pass site, since that is what Emily had got, and found that a pass valid for 10 days with 5 days travelling is £130! That covers most of the trains we wanted to take, we just have to pay a small supplement (about £30 each way) on the overnight train. Plus since it's valid for 5 days travel and the weekend is only 3, I can also use it to go to Bruges next wednesday, which is cool, it's kinda like an extra free trip!! And cos I still have another day, I can also use it to pay for my ticket from here to Lille when I come home next Friday, so I'd get my money's worth!

So this is our plan: I'm meeting Emily in Lille on Saturday at 12:30, We are then getting a train to Brussels and spending the afternoon in Brussels before getting a train at 19:25 to Colonge. We then get the Overnight train from Colonge, leaving at 22:38 and arriving in Prague at 9:33 Sunday morning. We then spend the day in Prague, before I (Emily is going to stay in Prague for a few more days and then go to Switzerland, before going back home) have to get the train at 18:50 back to Colonge arriving at 6:14 Monday morning, I then have to wait an hour and get the train back to Brussels, I then have 1.5 hours wait to get the train back to Lille. I get to Lille at 11h46 and I have an 1/2 hour wait to get the train back to Aulnoye. I get back here at 13:24. I'm meant to start work at 13h30...So I'm going to be a little bit late, but hopfully I can just dump my bag and pick up my stuff for school, and be there by about 13:50.

I am slightly worried about having to travel back on my own, and there is a small voice saying that it's a lot of money for what is esenstionally one day, I'm hopeing it will all be ok, and I'll have a great time. I'm trying to think of what clothes to bring, since i will kinda be in the same outfit from Saturday-Monday!! And also apparently it's snowing in Prague, so I'll need lots of layers!

I'm hoping to visit the castle, but other than that I really have no idea, I think we might just wander round and see what takes our fancy!!
